We would like to stake out the four plots that we would like to use for this study near Mike Goulden's flux towers at the main Deep Canyon station (33.652, -116.372) and at Pinyon Flats (33.605, -116.455). We would also like to collect a small amount (<20g) of local litter to use as inoculum for our litterbags and to characterize the initial microbial community and litter chemistry.
