For the 2019 field season, I plan to lead a team of undergraduates from both Sonoma State University and Santa Clara University in conducting population surveys and collections of the leaf beetle Chrysomela aeneicollis. These surveys will serve to monitor the population status of C. aeneicollis within Sierra Nevada drainages, as well as inform us on the demographics and phenology of current populations. We will use the information provided from the surveys to determine which populations would be ideal sampling localities for future experiments, including my own.
