The California Native Plant Society plans to use the Owen's Valley Facilities to host a workshop focused on identifying Important Plant Areas east of the Sierra Nevada by bringing together regional experts in botany and plant ecology for a collaborative mapping exercise. The workshop will span 2 days beginning with an introduction to the Important Plant Area program and participants followed by group delineation of Important Plant Areas using arcgis online. Results will be collectively reviewed and edited in the second day of the workshop.
