We are planing a clinical trial examining novel medications to prevent acute mountain sickness. We will be hiking, enjoying the beautiful scenery, and collecting data on the study participants at the lodges. We utilize the low altitude elevations for enrollment at OVL, then utilize the hiking to BAR where we spend the night doing peak and next morning data collection on the volunteer participants. The identical hiking and sleeping and data collection profile was completed in 2010, resulting in a publication in a high impact medical journal in 2012. We wish to stay for 4 weekends in August, 2016, 28 total people each night, with the understanding that 3 - 4 people will need to sleep on couches at BAR.
