I would like to drive from Palm Springs to Borrego Springs the afternoon of June 19 and plan to work in the collections Thursday and part of Friday, June 20 - 21. I am especially interested in the Susan Kidwell specimens from Barrett Canyon and I have a list of locality numbers that I believe Linda Gilbert gave me. I do not have all of the localities plotted on a map, but perhaps you have this information. I will probably want to take a few pictures of specimens, as well as catch up with what is happening at the museum. USGS geologists Jon Matti and Bret Cox mapped an area a helicopter ride SW of Travertine Point and reported seeing fossil mollusks there. I think someone also mentioned a vertebrate fossil. I shall try to find more specific information (the locality and quadrangle would be helpful!) to see whether this area is within Anza Borrego Desert Park, and whether you have collections from there. Please let me know if this will be convenient for you and others at the museum. It would be a pleasure to catch up with you and George Jefferson and any volunteers who are in Borrego Springs this time of year. Best regards, Judy Terry Smith
