Sagehen Creek Field Station

The students in our class have been spending one day each week in the field, working in small groups to formulate and carry out small observational experiments. At Sagehen, they will have a chance to work alone for a day, mostly near the cabins, on some observational study of their choosing. In the past we've done this at the DeAngelo Preserve, and the students typically choose some project with plants or insects. Exept for the presence of the person, the projects are pretty purely non-invasive. The most disturbance a project might involve would be sweepnetting (perhaps of the willows by the stream).
