Sagehen Creek Field Station

In this visit to Sagehen Creek Field Station, we will primarily be training lab members on how to use various types of collection equipment appropriate to collecting for different life stages of aquatic insects and other benthic macroinvertebrates. We will also be training lab members on how to use various stream measurement devices. We will use a variety of collection techniques to largely collect caddisflies (Trichoptera) as well as some other stream invertebrates. Collection methods: aquatic nets, blacklighting (UV), malaise, aerial nets Field training: current meters, turbidity meters
