Overview: For a century, US Forest Service Experimental Forests and Ranges have been used for scientific discovery to aid in natural resource management and environmental protection. To honor 100 years of Forest Service Research and Development at the 81 Experimental Forests and Ranges across the country, a number of Celebrations are taking place. One such Experimental Forest Celebration is taking place at the recently-established Sagehen Experimental Forest. Developing a 100 Year Vision: The two-day Sagehen Experimental Forest Celebration will begin with discussions that will allow participants to reflect on the rich history of research taking place onsite and across Experimental Forests and Ranges nationwide. The Celebration?s focus will then shift to the development of a 100-year vision for future research at Sagehen. Planned Activities: ? Developing a 100-year vision for research at Sagehen to address Sierra management issues ? Developing a continuing vision for educational partnerships at Sagehen ? Presentations of ongoing research(given by scientists performing work) ? Onsite research tours (given by scientists performing work) ? Catered Dinner
