Sagehen Creek Field Station

To teach and engage high school students in the research methods used by field biologists. Activities include: live trapping of flying squirrels and chipmunks (using the Robertson trapline), the collecting of terrestrial insects, the survey of aquatic insects (below guaging station), forestry census (north of Sagehen access rd.), fish behavior observations(stream house), catch and release of herps and use of cover boards, soil analysis, bird watching and censusing, setting up temporary wildlife cameras, and conducting mini student inquirey projects.
