We would like to stay at the reserve (camping in tents) the evening of the 4th, spend the day in the area of Moro Bay, returning in the evening of the 5th, Departing for Big Creek on the morning of the 6th, returning to Rancho Marino on the evening of the 7th, walking around the Reserve on the morning of the 8th and departing to San Diego about 2 pm on the 8th. If space is an issue on the 4th, we could arrive on the evening of the 5th... Access to cooking facilities is desirable but not strictly necessary. Access to porta-potties is necessary given the group size. The goal of the trip is to see reserves (Big Creek, Rancho Marino), discuss coastal ecology of the intertidal, the offshore MPAs, the establishment and management of MPAs, coastal dunes, estuaries and the marine-terrestrial interface; We also hope to introduce students to natural history observation, coastal ecology, and climatological and ecological history of coastal California.
