Kenneth S. Norris Rancho Marino Reserve

I expect to contrast limpets formerly assumed to be a single species, Lottia paradigitalis, for the possible presence of a more southern and similar appearing species, soon to be described as a new species by my former advisor with his former Masters student. The new limpet species occurs sporadically north of Pt. Conception, with the northernmost confirmed record near Carmel, CA. I am going to use observational methods only to see if I see any difference between these limpets that is correlated with tidal height, which might be due to different habitat preferences where these limpets might overlap in their respective range, for example, with the southern species found higher in the intertidal.
