Sedgwick Reserve

Our plan is to spend our time botanizing at the Sedgwick Reserve and in the nearby National Forest (Figueroa Mountain). The general goal is to introduce the university students enrolled in our Plant Ecology and Systematic Botany courses to the plants of California's southern-central coast. We plan to examine the species compositions of serpentine and non-serpentine sites. We will be keying out plants but we will not be collecting plant specimens. We will focus on natural history. No experimental manipulations are planned.
