Sedgwick Reserve

We will visit the reserve to observe population locations, population sizes and distributions, and floristic and edaphic environments of occurances of Caulanthus amplexicaulis ssp. barbarae (Santa Barbara Jewelflower). We will collect small leaf tissue samples (<0.5 cm2, <5 mg fresh weight) from several individual plants at each occurance (the exact number depends on overall population size and distribution). We will visit the preserve at some time during the interval indicated, but the exact time is not yet known.
