Biology 340 gives an introduction to the plant species, plant families, and vegetation types of southern California, and provides students with plant identification skills and a basic knowledge of the ecological factors affecting the distribution of plants and vegetation in southern California. Students will learn to identify the most common plant families of southern California and recognize the dominant species in major vegetation types of southern California.
