Sedgwick Reserve

There will be two major goals during our stay at Sedgwick. (1) Field observation in representative examples of a wide range of plant communities found at Sedgwick, to introduce students to typical chaparral, oak woodland, grassland; ares will be within a day's round-trip hike from the field station. (2) Field studies by individual students; before the trip, each student will design a study on an area of interest based on course readings, class discussion, and a search of the literature. Most sampling will be non-destructive. Some students may want to collect specimens of plants or plant parts.
