The Associated Students Environmental Affairs Board (EAB) is the central student environmental group at the University of California, Santa Barbara. We provide students with opportunities to positively impact their surroundings through community service, political action, and leadership training. By extending the environmental movement to individuals from all walks of life, EAB has created a tight-knit community dedicated to changing the way we interact with the world. Every year we plan a Leadership Retreat for our officers to strategize, plan campaigns, get to know each other, and have fun. It's a great team-building event that gets us energized for a year of environmental activism and education at UCSB. We try to hold it in a beautiful outdoor area so that during our workshops we can remind ourselves of what we are working to protect. The Sedgwick Reserve seems to be an exemplary place to cultivate an environmental awareness and also focus intently on work undisturbed by the outside world. There will be 25-30 EAB officers and advisors attending. We would need places for everyone to sleep (inside a cabin or barn would be preferable, but camping would also be fine) as well as some work spaces. We should not be doing any sort of activities that will threaten the wildlife or surrounding ecosystems except perhaps an occasional hike. We will mostly be having meetings around the facilities and enjoying the picnic area. For more information, please look at our website: www.ucsbeab.com Thanks!
