Sedgwick Reserve

This work is a continuation of our work on pollination and local coadaptation of native plants and pollinators at Sedgwick, focusing mostly on interactions between Lithophragma plants and Greya moths. The study also include analysis of co-pollinators of Lithophragma and other host plants of the genus Greya. We have censused plants and moths at Sedgwick over the past four years, and this year's work will add to our analysis of temporal dynamics in these interactions. The specific study sites and their GPS coordinates are on record in the Sedgwick office. This work is part of a larger NSF-funded project that is analyzing the geographic mosaic of coevolution between Lithophragma and Greya across far western North America. The overall purpose of this study it to assess how plants and insects coevolve across complex landscapes and how coevolving interactions are being reshaped by fragmentation of habitats and the spread of invasive species across ecosystems.
