Hastings Natural History Reservation

This is a field entomology class that focuses on ants. We would like to stay in the Ranch House (any available rooms), Bunk House and Stucco House and use the Conference Room. The lead instructor for the course will be Brian Fisher from the California Academy of Sciences. We will be collecting using various methods (sweeping, pitfall traps, and hand-collecting) in different habitat types. Collections will be identified to genus or species, databased, and deposited in the Essig Museum of Entomology, UC Berkeley. The species list will contribute to informaiton on the diversity of these taxa in the reserve.
