Hastings Natural History Reservation

We conduct ongoing studies aimed at addressing the scientific needs for recovery of threatened steelhead of the south-central California coast. The project at this point is focusing on landscape and climatic controls on stream temperature in the Big Sur and Santa Lucia mountains, particularly the Carmel River and Arroyo Seco drainages. The current work is a pilot study, in which we will deploy temperature loggers and measure stream discharge at various points in these systems during the summer of 2005.
