Hastings Natural History Reservation

Development of the Synthesis of the North American Flora, which is a software database that treats all 22,200+ vascular plant species native or naturalized in North America, north of Mexico, with the addtion of Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands. The data presented for each of these taxa includes nomenclature with synonymy, distribution maps at the county level (for the contiguous 48 states plus Hawaii), and biological attributes. The first version of this database was published in 1999. Publication is expected through the Missouri Botanical Garden Press in March of 2006.
