Hastings Natural History Reservation

This is an exploratory visit by GK-12 graduate student fellows to look over the facilities and to work out the activities and sites that they will use when they bring students to Hastings later in the month. They will be looking at riparian areas, grassland, chaparral and oak woodland habitats. They may set up pitfall traps, black lights for colleciton of night flying insect, and track plates. They may also collect plants and use sweep nets and beating sheets to collect insects in different habitats.They will need only sleeping space for 4 for the night of Oct 2.
