Hastings Natural History Reservation

The California Student Sustainability Coalition will be hosting its Fall Leadership Retreat from November 6th-9th for 40 college campus representatives to work together on advancing our mission of economic, social, and environmental sustainability. Trainings and workshops will be provided for students to gain critical skills for designing and implementing their advocacy work and the organization will have their annual meeting to determine its strategic plan for the academic year. Students, staff, and board members will be sleeping on the premises and food will be provided for attendees. The weekend will be dry and substance-free and we look forward to hiking the designated trails to explore the beauty of Hastings Natural History Reservation. I'm unable to clarify the demographics of our attendees in the "Participants" section of the reservation application so I'll clarify here: There will be an assortment of UC, CSU, CCC, and CA private university students attending the retreat. As representation at the event is variable due to scheduling and turn over rates, I'm unable to provide an accurate breakdown though our average numbers are: 16 UCs (2-4 from UCSB), 12 from CSUs, 10 from CCCs, and 2 from Private colleges. An additional 3 staff members and 7 board members will be present as well for a total of 50 expected attendees.
