Hastings Natural History Reservation

The Exploring California Biodiversity Project will bring 18 7th graders from Mira Vista School in Richmond CA, to Hastings to conduct natural history field studies. The group will be led by two graduate student fellows: Charlotte Jennings and Jenifer Imamura and accompanied by two teacher and two parent chaperones. Activities will be similar to what we have done over the past 9 years, and include nature walks, observing wildlife (birds, reptiles, mammals, amphibians, insects, plants) and insect catching/collecting (using aerial and sweep nets, night lights, beat sheets, and possibly pitfall traps).
