Hastings Natural History Reservation

I've received reports from Drs. Stromberg and Lacey that the Big Creek population that I studied as a graduate student may be in decline, as evidenced by the disappearance of houses adjacent to the permanent markers that once indicated their location. I have an opportunity to come through the area and would like to make a visual inspection of the study site. I do not plan to do any live trapping on this preliminary trip but hope to gain enough information about the condition of the site to establish the framework of a study that might lead to a better understanding of the causes and consequences of this apparent decline.
