Hastings Natural History Reservation

25 members of the International Association of Lichenologists will make a 9 AM - 12 noon visit to Hastings Reserve on July 13, 2008 to perform a re-survey of lichens in oak woodlands near the station headquarters. The Hastings Reserve lichen flora is representative of a natural oak stand in clean air. Survey results will be compared to results from a 1996 historical survey at Hastings Reserve by the California Lichen Society and to an oak woodland near Salinas affected by urban and agricultural air pollutants (also to be inventoried on July 13, 2008).
