Hastings Natural History Reservation

The goal of the project is to examine the distribution of fish species in the Arroyo Seco drainage, south of Hastings, in relation to gradients of annual precipitation and stream geomorphology. Sites on the principal tributaries of Arroyo Seco will be selected randomly, and assessed via electrofishing, snorkel surveys, and habitat measurements. Sites on Arroyo Seco itself will be assessed via snorkel surveys. Not currently planning on collecting data within the reserve property itself. Request use of reserve housing.
