Angelo Coast Range Reserve

I am researching the controls on spatial and temporal variability of nutrient availability and feedbacks to consumers in stream networks.Description of Environmental ManipulationsI will draw 5L of water from 7 locations in the water shed three times throughout the summer. I will take several sediment samples (<1L each) from at least one large pool in the Eel. I plan to use Rhodamine WT, and possibly NaCl, PO4, and NH4 to track nutrient dynamics in large pools in the Eel. Disturbances should be exceptionally low. I have no intention of working with or disturbing animals. I may collect several rocks with biofilms on them and some cladophora for a DON release experiment in small chambers.
