Field trip for UC Davis EVE 134 Herpetology: The world-wide diversity of amphibians and reptiles with emphasis on behavior, ecology, functional morphology, and evolutionary history. The purpose of the trip is to practice field identification of reptiles and amphibians and to observe these animals in their natural habitats. Minimal handling and re-release of non-threatened animals will be supervised by experienced teaching staff. Students will also conduct non-invasive observations of animals for independent mini-research projects. No animals or animal-tissue will be collected. Impact on the reserve (both short and long term) should be minimal. The class will restrict field activities to areas deemed appropriate by reserve staff. The field trip could also be conducted on these alternate dates: April 20-22
