Angelo Coast Range Reserve

Crew will visit a site in the north part of the Reserve where oak mortality was mapped during an '05 aerial survey. Crew will look in the area of oak mortality for symptoms of infection by Phytophthora ramorum. If symptoms occur, samples of leaves and trunk cankers will be collected from host species including tanoak, bay laurel, redwood, doug fir, and bigleaf maple. These will be sent to the CDFA pathology lab in Sacramento for diagnosis. Crew will also take notes on SOD host species presence and density at the site.
