Quail Ridge Reserve

Host a CCE Environmental Enrichment Program-affiliated parent (and outdoor education practitioner) and a colleague on a field visit to the field station pending a plan to re-investigate the setting up of an experimental field trip for CCE students. Sometime over the summer or in the fall a small group of students will arrive at Quail, be briefed in the amphitheater and split into field groups to explore along sections of red, green and blue herp trails. Students will meet up again in the amphitheater for a 'debrief', possibly with inclusion of a poetry/art notebook session prior to heading off back to Davis. The EEP will then have these kids interpreting some of what they learned back on campus in and around the habitat and outdoor classroom area. This interpretation session will contribute to the development of online and hard copy EEI Environmental Concepts and Principles curriculum which is an objective of the EEP. It will also serve the Stebbins docent program which aims to train up young docents and ambassadors for the reserve.
