Landels-Hill Big Creek Reserve

Snapshot Day is a yearly water quality monitoring event focused on watersheds that drain into the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary. We have 194 sites up and down the coast from Morro Bay to Pacifica. In Big Sur we have nine sites, of which Big Creek is one, but our most pristine. The volunteers will enter the property and park next to the lab building. They will access the creek via a trail to take water samples and perform field tests- temp, transparency, DO, conductivity. Snapshot Day helps to provide the MBNMS with valuable data about water quality but also to educate in inspire volunteers to protect our natural world.
