Outside Now is a small non-profit organization in San Luis Obispo that connects people to nature. Our currently running programs include Coyote Pups (outdooor preschool), Summer Camps (ages 3-14), Nature School (ages 6-12), and Nature Academy (full-time middle and high school program). Nature Academy is a full time educational program for students aged 12 - 18. Our learning takes place almost completely outdoors and is nature based in its entirety. At the start of each school year, our students and lead instructors go on a 4 day, 3 night camping trip for orientation and group bonding. Having had the privilege of visiting Big Creek myself several times now, I would be thrilled to be able to introduce this special land to our students. Already stewards of the land, these kids would come to Big Creek prepared to learn from it's history and leave it better than they found it. This year, our students will be focusing on learning the histories and stories of our local lands. We welcome any educational input that your staff and volunteers may be willing to contribute, although we are also fully prepared to facilitate our trip completely on our own.
