Note: In 1994, I ran a program out of Redwood Camp for three weeks with the National WIldlife Federation's Animal Tracks Program. This is how I know of your place. I now teach sixth grade at the King City Arts Charter School in King City, CA. Our school tries to integrate the curriculum with real world experiences. As an avid amateur naturalist, I know the great value of being exposed to the natural world. Almost all of my students have had little or no experience in realia as it relates to the sciencesor for that matter doing things outdoors. It is my wish to expose students to the many wonders to be seen, felt and touched on a field trip to a such a beautiful place. As a teacher with over 30 years experience leading outdoor excursions, I am highly experienced in organizing group excursions to wilderness areas including camping, hiking and study. I know how vital it is to bring people to places such as yours equipped with the knowledge of treading lightly and respecting the natural world around them with reverence and respect. I would bring my students prepared, organized and ready for an epic experience that would help them become educated and appreciative citizens. Of note is the fact that the tides will be at (I think) their lowest of 2010. I may plan it so we can travel to Sand Dollar for the low tide on the day of our visit. The low is a -1.64 for around 4pm on Friday, January 29 with a 5:30 pm sunset. Lastly, I know my group would not only gain immensely valuable real life experience and as is my personal philosophy, we would leave the place better than we found it by bringing the best of ourselves and leaving only light footprints!
