Landels-Hill Big Creek Reserve

This is our annual fourth grade trip to Big Creek. The children will spend 5 weeks prior to the trip studying the flora and fauna of the Big Creek area. They each choose a mammal, a bird, a reptile or amphibian and a type of flora found at Big Creek. They do an intensive research project using the computer and the class library and produce a booklet on Big Creek with their various flora and fauna included with photos. THey also bring sketch pads and journals to write and draw their experiences at Big Creek. Dr. Gillespie will do a spider hour at the beach, and Jeff Kennedy will do a nature hike up to Whale Point.
