Landels-Hill Big Creek Reserve

Purpose of this trip is to conduct real life field research for the AAUS diving certification course. Divers will be conducting surveys in the kelp forest off of Big Creek Reserve all of which will be non-destructive sampling. This means- kelp surveys- invertebrate surveys- fish surveys.We will be doing multiple dives and filling tanks with a portable compressor. We will be launching inflatables from shore and doing offshore dives as well to learn diving logistics, boating logisitics and accessing other sites. We will have emergency equipment and be conducting diving emergency management scenarios.
