Sweeney Granite Mountains Desert Research Center
22 Mar, 01 PM - 24 Mar, 01 PM
The primary purpose of this visit is to introduce students to desert ecology. And to help students integrate the interdisciplinary work they have done in the class room (on desert politics, culture, religion and literature) more fully. This is an interdisciplinary course in the college of Liberal Arts at Loyola Marymount University and has a strong social justice ethos. The trip will also help students think more deeply about their ethical responsibility for caring for threatened desert habitats.
