Carpinteria Salt Marsh Reserve

I plan to measure the elevation distribution of Cerithideopsis californica, commonly known as the California horn snail, across 6 transects of the salt marsh. I will do this for the marsh transects by using a 1 m x 1 m quadrant divided into 4 equal sub-plots and counting any C. californica specimen within each sub-plot. For the channel transects where the C. californica populations are expected to be more dense, I will use a transect tape to mark the length of the transect, marking the elevation and location of any C. californica individuals residing within ~5 cm on either side of the tape.
