Carpinteria Salt Marsh Reserve

Collect soil samples (ca. 10 g each) from four locations where Salicornia is growing (lower elevation) and from four locations next to the road (higher elevation). We see a dramatic difference in the microbial flora on Salicornia leaves in comparison to plants growing at higher elevations (Arthrocnemum, Limonium, Frankenia, and Atriplex), and we would like to see if that correlates with the soil microflora whee the plants grow.
