Motte Rimrock Reserve

I plan to count Datura wrightii plants, assess their trichome phenotype (sticky or soft), count arthropods, and quantify herbivore damage. I will also collect seeds from some plants and may collect specific species of herbivore for the generation of a laboratory colony at IU. The goal of this project is to determine the mechanisms underlying negative-frequency dependent selection on a trichome dimorphism in nature.
