Motte Rimrock Reserve

We wish to visit the Motte Rimrock Reserve to observe (and possibly photograph) Stephen's Kangaroo Rats (Dipodomys stephensii) and Dulzura (Dipodomys simulans) on Friday night, April 11, 2014. This will occur during a "work visit" to southern California, and is based on the recommendation of Dr. Mark Chappell. We will be using flashlights and not spotlights, and it would be ideal to stay at the reserve overnight to maximize our time with the mammals during the evening/night. We are "world birders" but also enjoy seeing mammals in their native habitat. We have seen a number of other kangaroo rats in the United States, and find them quite fascinating. We hope to see additional kangaroo rat species, and per Dr. Chappell, the Motte Rimrock Reserve is an outstanding place to look for Stephen's and Dulzura Kangaroo Rats. Thanks!
