Motte Rimrock Reserve

I am a geologist at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and University of California, Irvine. I am currently funded by the National Science Foundation and Southern California Earthquake Center to study earthquake hazards in southern California. Specifically, the goal of my work is to measure ages of precarious rocks, which give information about the amount of past earthquake ground shaking. I would like to collect the necessary rock and sediment samples in Motte Rimrock Reserve near the San Jacinto fault. This would entail using a hammer, chisel, and small trowel to collect 6-8 rock samples (0.5 lb each) and 2 sediment samples (1 lb each). I would also like to take photographs in order to make a three-dimensional model of the rock.
