Sierra STEM is a local organization focused on outdoor education and STEM enrichment for students from the Bay Area. This trip is a student trip Sierra STEM is planning in March 2023 for 24 8th-grade students from Crystal Springs Uplands School, which is affiliated with Sierra STEM. During this trip, students will learn through hands-on, place-based pedagogies about topics including the ecological history of water and fire in the Eastern Sierra and about Native American communities on the East Side, past and present. They will also engage in leadership and teamwork development programming as part of the trip. SNARL is an ideal location to host this programming, and I would love to work with SNARL to host this transformative student experience at your facilities. The facilities will be used as a launching point for our day trips, for meeting space for debriefing and evening programs, and for dormitory and cooking facilities for students, chaperones, and Sierra STEM staff.
