SNARL facilities would be used to support USGS and UC Berkeley (Kevin Cuff)scientists collecting soil-gas measurements in the Mammoth Mtn-Long Valley Caldera area. At this time no measurements on reserve property are planned. The soil-gas measurements are made to detect anomalous carbon dioxide and radon emissions and concentrations. The results are interpreted in terms of local geology, geothermal resource utilization, and volcanic, magmatic, or seismic activity.
