This workshop teaches participants (adult, professional biologists and land managers)how to collect detailed vegetation data in a variety of plant communities. We hope to visit several vegetation types in groups of 5-7 people, except on the first day where we will remain in one group to go over methodology together. We plan to use the Valentine Ranch as well as the SNARL lands for vegetation surveys. We use no markers and cause no disturbance of land outside of footprints. We may request permission to collect some unknown species of plants (non-rare) for purpose of identification for our limited species list. Field sites have yet to be determined. We will need housing for up to 25 partipants for two nights (Aug 28 and 29)but will consider other dates in early Sept if first choice is unavailable. We will also need a classroom with a projection screen for either morning or evening of Aug 28 (still planning logistics).
