Santa Cruz Island Reserve

Biology 25 involves study of the makeup and distribution of plant communities across the island, the impact of introduced plants and animals, and how the underlying geology affects the biological nature of different partions of the island. Students will collect observational data only-no plant materials or animals will be collected. Using this data, students will develop an understanding of the nature and changes in the southern California borderland. We will visit Christi Beach, Poza Canyon, Willows Canyon, Coches Prietos Anchorage and the Central Valley-Cascada area.
