One day field trip booked on regular IPCO schedule. Purpose is discussion/observation of weed control problems/projects on SCI. Approx 40 persons. Some (10-15?) will probably do guided hike with IPCO. Others (10?) will probably stay near beach. Remainder ca (20? 30?) will go on vehicle tour. All except hikers will participate in Session 1, in lower Prisoner's Canyon, discussion of SCINPRP, led by Ken Owen/David Chang/Lyndal Laughrin. Thence along Navy road to view and discuss dense fennel/CSS stands, and proposed control treatments, turn at Navy site, then down to CV airstrip, up east end of Ridge Road, along ridge, down Islay Canyon, and ranch area (very short visit? photo ops?) Thence Field Station (short stop to appreciate facilities), then through Ranch? short history presentation by LL? photo ops? then down Pris Cyn and onto boat. Will try to engage Erik/Lotus/TimC/fox care/eagle care person(s) to discuss or Lotus to discuss SCI restoration project, bringing them along, or picking them up briefly at Navy site, or at Ranch or FS.
