Santa Cruz Island Reserve

This project has two goals. The first is to expand on current efforts to assemble sandy beach food webs on the Santa Barbara mainland. The main effort will be to scout sites for future formal sampling, determine ease of access, habitat scale, extent of dune formation, and dominant organisms. The second goal will be to survey for snowy plovers and, in particular, determine if any breeding pairs are presently at southern beaches.
