Santa Cruz Island Reserve

The primary objectives for the research project are the collection of monitoring data for survival and population estimates for the Island Fox and Island Spotted Skunk on Santa Cruz Island, in collaboration with The Nature Conservancy. The field research is directed by a PhD student, Adam Dillon, at Colorado State University, under the supervision of Dr. Kevin Crooks. Mr. Dillon will be conducting field work on Santa Cruz Island from July-October from 2011 through 2014, staying at cabins operated by The Nature Conservancy. Dr. Crooks will be using the UC field station to periodically visit Mr. Dillon and his field crew. Ultimately, the monitoring data will be used to evaluate the status of island fox and island spotted skunk populations.
