Santa Cruz Island Reserve

1. Observational study of diverse plant/animal communities on the island, primarily within 2 miles of the field station, on- and off-trail. 2. Non-destructive sampling for 1- or 2-day studies by undergraduate students. Each student will conduct a study they've designed before the field trip that will require data collection at several field sites in southern California.3. Destructive sampling - confined to collection of plant specimens for analysis of chemical content of leaves or other plant parts, plant specimens for the college herbarium, or invertebrate specimens.
