Santa Cruz Island Reserve

The purpose of this visit is to excavate one column sample at two bedrock mortar sites that were identified near Centinela during previous surveys (total of two column samples). These excavations will allow for radiocarbon dating of these two sites, which will help strengthen my dissertation proposal for researching bedrock mortar sites on Santa Cruz Island. In addition, the material excavated will be compared with the material excavated at SCRI-619/620, and incorporated into my dissertation research.
